An affiliated partner of the Platform for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (PETAL), Academic Technologies collaborates with faculty members, academic units, and other University stakeholders to advance the culture of technology enhanced teaching and learning at the University of Miami.
With primary responsibility for the University’s technology ecosystem and with additional expertise in instructional design, educational technology, and AI, this unit supports faculty to create innovative, effective, and meaningful learning experiences through learner-centered and active learning pedagogies, differentiated teaching and learning platforms, and emerging educational technologies.
With PETAL, Academic Technologies co-sponsors the annual Faculty Showcase, the University of Miami’s premiere teaching and learning event. Faculty gather to share, network, and discover the ways in which their colleagues are enriching student experiences through innovative pedagogies and learning technologies.
