UMX Policies & Procedures

  • UMX 100 is a required course for all new undergraduate students at the University of Miami.
  • UMX 100 is a zero credit online course where students may complete the course at their own pace. The course opens prior to the start of the Fall and Spring semesters and remains open through the last day of the semester.
  • Freshmen and transfer students will be automatically enrolled in the course their first semester. New undergraduate students not enrolled by the first week of classes should contact umx@miami.edu to be enrolled.
  • Your letter grade (A, B, C, D, or F) in the course will show on your transcript. The grade is not calculated into your GPA. Your grade is calculated from the 10 quizzes in the course. There is no final exam for the course.
  • There is no course fee or textbook required for UMX 100.
  • If you have previously taken UMX 100 and were enrolled again, please e-mail umx@miami.edu with your student status, C Number, and a short explanation.
  • If you have been dropped from the course or need to be added into the course please e-mail umx@miami.edu with your name, C Number, and a short explanation.
