Dr. Maria Galli Stampino is Dean of Undergraduate Affairs. She plays a pivotal role in advocating for students in their curricular and co-curricular endeavors, working with leadership in the colleges and schools to strengthen the various facets of undergraduate education across the University. Her efforts have been focused on improving, creating, and providing effective support for initiatives in key areas, including study abroad, academic advocacy for underrepresented students, career readiness, civic engagement, pre-health careers, undergraduate research, and the honors program.

The University of Miami Experience (UMX 100) is a required graded, comprehensive virtual self-paced course specifically designed to assist first-year students, transfer students included, in making a successful transition to the University of Miami. Students are exposed to campus resources, academic and career planning, university traditions, study abroad opportunities, and personal wellness programs, as well as advising and registration.
